Byrsa Bistro Kennett

We were at the bistro last night after a visit to Longwood Gardens (also highly recommended). We shared the Mediterranean Sampler and we had Cavatelli & Lamb and the Beef Bolognese & Pasta.

The appetizer was excellent with really smooth hummus, tasty veggie dip and warm Stuffed Grape Leaves (many times these are served cold). The olives, a nice mixture of sizes and flavors, were in a really nice dressing as well.

Both pasta dishes were also delicious. Served piping hot and the pasta was a perfect al dente.

One of us had the red blend wine, and the other had a few of the local brews. The local brews were excellent (and an interesting selection). We did not realize that the bistro was BYOB, or we would have brought our own wine. The wine served was certainly fine, but I thought it was a hair below the rest of the experience.

Overall, highly recommended. Especially since there's an option to bring your own beverage of choice.

The food and house made wines are excellent. Great selection of local microbrews. Also a byo- but hardly necessary with full bar including local spirits. Vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.... which might be a first for a restaurant in this town (thank you). Staff are friendly and attentive. Bar has a great vibe. Highly recommended.

The mushroom flatbread, soup, and lamb pasta were all excellent. The house wine was also really good, as was the service. Definitely recommend this place!

Great place to come and unwind! Great wine and great food!
