Everything from the service to the cocktails and food was delicious. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon lunch on the patio. Our waitor was so much fun and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend. Inside the restaurant is a more refined, private atmosphere if that's what you're going for.
I enjoyed an excellent lunch at the press room. I had the duck fat fries, kale caesar salad, and the pressed steak sandwich. Service and food make this one of the very best places to eat in Lancaster.
We were in Lancaster to see A Christmas Carol at the Fulton Theatre. A very short walk from the theatre we stumbled across The Pressroom Restaurant. We didn’t have reservations but there were a few long high tops at the front of the restaurant that they don’t take reservations for - so we grabbed one of those. The atmosphere, our server and our food was fabulous. While we were there carolers stopped by to sing to the diners. It was very festive. Also the women’s restroom was awesome.
The Pressman was a mixed bag for us, but mostly a good experience. For starters, the place presents well. It has a warm, creative decor with just enough old-fashion. The food, when it did arrive, was flavorful and well -prepared. We had the vegan pasta and the quiche - both good. Note on the vegan pasta - I added meat protein and I was still hungry 1 hour later. I recommend adding a salad or soup for sure.
As my hint above suggested, the food wait was irksome. It was only moderately busy and we still waited over 40 mins for a pie slice of quiche and a pile of spiraled veggies - tasty but it was just too long. We needed to be at an open house so it made it the wait more significant. Our server was pleasant and we don't blame her of course. If you have 1.5 hours for lunch, you will enjoy it. If not, combined with limited choice menu, I'd try the many other options down town.
