If you are reading this review, contemplating dining at this new, maybe never heard of restaurant, GO! Eating is my favorite hobby and I am not easily impressed by most restaurants; lucky for me, this was not most restaurants!
My husband and I, along with 3 other couples, were fortunate enough to have a 7-course wine/ cocktail pairing meal at Blackworth. My husband and I bid on the dinner at a charity event. We love to eat, and it was for a great cause "Horizons Initiative" so we thought "why not". We went into the dinner expecting good food and a great time, but WOW were our expectations surpassed!
First, the atmosphere is wonderful. Very cozy and sophisticated without being off putting and sterile. Our server, Matt, was very knowledgeable and answered any and all questions ourselves and guests had; including but not limited to where our food was sourced and how the meals were prepared. In fact, all the staff who assisted in making our meal what it was were all kind, informative and fantastic.
Now the food! We had way too much food to describe in detail what it deserves but my personal favorites were the "Oysters Blackworth", "Pork Belly" and "Chilean Sea Bass". The oysters were served on the half shell with cheese and other ingredients that sadly i do not remember as i was too busy devouring it. The Pork Belly was served with polenta cakes that wonderfully complimented the delicious fattiness of the meat. And the Sea Bass, wow. I typically stick to salmon and fish tacos, but this surpassed all my fish expectations. I think what set it apart was the wonderful spices and the crisp finish of the oven that it was cooked in.
If you are looking to have a truly delicious meal and are nervous or hesitant to try a new place, do it! Bravo to the staff and Chef!
Stopped in for cocktails and apps! Wow. Everything was delicious! The pork belly was crispy, tender and full of flavor. Try the arancini. The cheeseboard had an ash-aged goat cheese that was so yummy. I enjoyed my Kentucky mule cocktail and our server took great care of us. Beautiful decor. Place was packed as soon as the doors opened at 4. Will definitely go back for a special occasion!
So good. This desert is amazing. It’s the apple cinnamon donuts. I absolutely loved it. The open kitchen is great to see the fire they cook on.
Great experience! Nicely designed restaurant. Very friendly staff. Signature dishes cooked in the open firewood grill. My husband and I went for a casual Sunday dinner. We ordered the whole fish and the pork chop prepared on that amazing firewood grill. Served with a cauliflower rice and a Brussels sprouts. A little too much char for my taste but it come with the territory. Next time will try the signature pizza.
The atmosphere suggests a much larger city like Frisco or Chicago: energetic, rustic-cosmopolitan, retaining the factory aesthetic of what the building used to be. A one-page menu: gourmet comfort food, pizza, steaks (all with smoky tones of the wood fire grill). Our favorite beer was featured on draft along with an enticing wine selection. The views highlight the location.
Photos include octopus appetizer, pork chop, and bolognese.
