Charming classic railroad with beautiful interior railroad cars. Fairly priced, welcoming staff and kid friendly. Short train ride but beautiful views of Amish country. A nice way to spend the afternoon if in the area. Dinning car is lovely, but limited food choices. Authentic charm makes it worth it though!
We had a thoroughly enjoyable ride on the train. The staff were terrific. Also the museum was very interesting and informational. Would highly recommend riding the Strasburg RR and visiting the PA Railroad Museum.
Wonderful family attraction. The Strasburg Railway Company does a beautiful job, blending the past to the present. The experience started at the railway station, actually before then. The presentation of trains, the secure no charge parking, and then the staff at the ticket office was excellent. They greeted us, made the process of issuing tickets enjoyable, easy and efficient. The Conductor and the rest of the train crew made this a very memorable journey.
We take a train ride nearly every time we visit with Grandma! The kids and I LOVE this place. We like all the little activities at the train station for kids (hand cranked cars that go around a small loop, a small, real locomotive, a playground area, and a little Thomas the Train ride). The actual regular-sized train ride itself takes you through the gorgeous country side, passing the train car motel, various farms, and the Cherry Crest Farm Adventure. We did the Easter Bunny train this past weekend... And it was a fun time by all! I never feel bad spending money here, because I know it goes toward the maintaining of a Pennsylvania treasure.
The trains are beautiful, the engines and even the "coach" class train cars are wonderfully restored. The conductors and engineers are more than happy to answer any questions your little one or a curious adult may have. Even the Stop Announcer engages the guests in a variety of train related activities making the entire experience one they'll remember and cherish.
