Took me a while to figure out it's a themed restaurant, but wow good prices and you get to pick which cheeses go in your omelette, all ingredients really fresh and they do 4 eggs instead of 3. Small menu which means you can count on all the ingredients and dishes being fresh. They definitely crack eggs here, 5/5 will come again

The Outer Limits Diner, located on North Memorial Drive in Shavertown (next to Cook’s Pharmacy), is a small, delightful diner with wonderful service and even better food.

We arrived on a Saturday morning at approximately 10:00, with two of eight tables available. Although there is bar seating (no alcohol served), with ten stools, all seats were vacant. We were greeted and seated immediately and ordered coffee and an orange juice.

The Blueberry Bread French toast was very good, with two pieces of blueberry bread sliced in half and lightly coated with powdered sugar. Syrup packets and butter were also provided. The bread was nice and soft and the blueberries were flavorful.

Also ordered was the four-egg ham and cheese omelet. The eggs were fluffy and packed with American cheese and slices of ham. One has the option to choose between American, cheddar, mozzarella, and provolone cheese.

A side of bacon was ordered for both dishes. Although it could be made to order, it was served a bit soft as opposed to extra crispy. Since I prefer the former, it was fried perfectly. My only complaint was it was a bit too greasy, but it did not prevent us from devouring the four slices each.

The diner itself isn’t exactly spacious, but the tables were evenly separated to provide plenty of space for diners to eat comfortably. Our servers were extremely friendly and pleasant. The wooden seats at the bar sat atop what appeared to be mini fire hydrants. As one would expect from the diner’s size, no booths are available,

In keeping with the diner’s name, light fixtures above the tables look like flying saucers, and a couple of little green men can be spotted at the counters. Although there was a slight wait for our meals, the food was worth the wait, so enjoy a cup of coffee. The servers are constantly walking around refilling cups. The business has only been around for ten weeks, and there was at least one person being trained, but the hard-working staff aim to please. Although I was told the weekdays are a bit slow, I'm sure the dedication will pay off, and hopefully the Outer Limit Diner’s best days are still ahead.

The newest Diner in the Back Mountain has a great atmosphere with all new furnishings. Kona coffee was delicious, with a bottomless cup of coffee and they even offered a to go coffee if desired. Friendly-fast service. I had the special French Toast Egg Sandwich which I was given a choice of plain French toast, cinnamon French Toast or Cinnamon Raisin (if I remember correctly 😉). Great breakfast sandwich and I would recommend they make it part of their regular menu. My wife had an order of French Toast and side of sausage.

Wishing them great success and I would definitely recommend stopping by for breakfast or lunch.

Update: Definitely try the UFO, It's a Philly cheesesteak wrapped in a deep fried burrito covered in queso. Western Omelet which comes with home fries is delicious

This place is a super humble Diner- incredible and polite staff and great food. The menu is pretty small but it adds to the whole experience. My only complaint is that this place is 2 1/2 hours away from my own home in NJ. ALSO: The coffee comes from Hawaii and was a great unexpected treat! Our server JJ was great and helpful. 11/10 experience.

This diner just recently opened (although the location has been a diner of some sort for many years). The parking is ALWAYS tough due to the pull in and out directly onto the highway. The food was good, I echo that the coffee was fresh and well brewed. They're limited to a breakfast / lunch menu and close early to reflect that. The main issue I had was with the organization and coordination of the service staff. They all seem young and are trying very hard to learn how to run the front of the house. We got the order from another table and when I mentioned it wasn't our food they looked very confused. It was for the table next to us. So they took the food back to the kitchen and then brought us our order twice (which I offered to pay for but they refused because it was their mistake so I left a bigger tip). Since they just opened up this is very excusable, but they would benefit from getting in an experienced server to help run the front of the house. Wait times were a bit long as well, but with everyone trying the new location I'm sure the kitchen staff were overwhelmed. I believe the owner and another person are the ones cooking based on what I saw through a glimpse in the back. I really do wish them well however. I will revisit the review in a couple of months once they've gotten things ironed out. I ordered the "U.F.O." which was a burrito they had filled, deep fried and covered with queso. It had a "salad" of lettuce and tomato chunks on the side. Overall it was good, it seemed a little rich and needed something to cut through the cheese and oil from the frying. Instead of the salad/tomato combo I would do some salsa or pico de gallo which is probably easier and cheaper to have on hand than chopping lettuce and rough dicing tomatoes.
