J.J. Ratigan Brewing Company

My boyfriend and I ordered the prime rib for ourselves a few weeks back and loved it. So much so that we got it for my parents for Father’s Day (prime rib is my dads favorite). He also gave it two thumbs up. It’s so nice knowing we can get such great food right in our backyard. We can’t wait to try more options!

Over the last few months J.J. Ratigan has quickly adapted to the takeout requirements and become a favorite local option for food and beer. They boast a broad array of menu options, ranging from small plates to full entrees and locally sourced sweets, which consistently meet or exceed recommendations. Recommend their smoky take on a Cuban sandwich and the crab nachos are a delicious cheat meal/shareable.

Their beer selection won’t blow away beer snobs (myself included) but their lineup is diverse and crushable. They also currently offer growler, crowler, and pints to-go while putting out some sweeter beer smoothies for those seeking something different. Keep an eye on social media for crowler discounts!

In the past we’ve encountered large crowds and slower service inside. However, they’re much more efficient and attentive with curbside and, now, the outdoor seating. The area is small, but conveniently situated with live music on select nights.

Highly recommend for elevated pub food, weekly specials, and/or a social distance friendly night out!

Everything we had was great! They were even courteous enough to call and let me know when my food was ready well before the original pick-up time so it didn’t sit for too long. I’ll probably have dreams about the Crab Nachos! ???? We’ll definitely be back!

Love love love this place! We've been ordering their curbside for awhile now but recently enjoyed their outdoor space. The tables were well-spaced and hand sanitizer was stationed at the entrance.

We started with the crab nachos (roasted corn, black bean tequila-lime salsa, artichoke-cheese sauce & nacho sauce on fried tortillas) which were super crabby and delicious. It's a generous portion, could have been a main dish or shared with 2 or 3 people.

Their spicy noodle bowl (cold soba noodles, sesame-teriyaki glaze, marinated egg, beef brisket, pickled veg, charred scallion, sesame seeds) is spicy, slightly sweet with the brisket providing a nice salty edge. It's something I would expect to find in a restaurant in Philly and was delighted to see it in a local Pottstown joint!

Now to the important stuff, the beer! We tried the German Pils, Gooder Wooder (great name) which was light with a little malty finish. Perfect summer beer. On Mondays they do $12 growlers, pretty sweet deal. I'm not a huge hazy IPA fan but absolutely loved their HighPA. It wasn't too hoppy. If you're looking for a heavy hitter, the tripel is also excellent.

They've got a great crew too! Friendly staff and the food is always ready quickly and piping hot. Always happy to order from J.J.'s and looking forward to trying something new from them again.

We’ve eaten in the restaurant prior to Covid and have since ordered curbside and everything is always great. The food is never a disappointment! My husband says the beer is great! I am a fan of the mixed drinks- Orange Crush is amazing! Can’t wait to visit once things open back up. Definitely check them out! You won’t be disappointed!!
