We tried Hoolala on a Saturday at lunchtime. We shared pork spring rolls, chicken buns, and 5 piece fried chicken strips with spicy soy sauce. Everything was great- I might not order the spring rolls again because the texture of the filling was a bit too finely minced for my taste.
The chicken bun was really tasty with a flavorful sauce and fresh cucumber and green onion. The fried chicken strips were awesome- crispy, meaty, and the sauce was spicy and soy salty with some sweetness. The only change I would have made was to have more of the sauce!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu items!
Nice to have a good alternative to other places for delicious ramen. I got the tonkotsu ramen and an order of pork buns. Both exceeded my expectations.
The ramen noodles were perfectly cooked. Slightly chewy so they lend themselves to be eaten with chop sticks. Good cuts of pork that was well seasoned gave great savory flavor to the miso broth. I especially liked that a ramen egg was included. Overall, I would rate the ramen an 8 out of 10.
The pork buns used the same cut of pork that's in the ramen. Savory flavors blended well with the semi-sweet, pillow soft bao buns. They include a slice of cucumber in the pork bun, which was a little surprising at first. I enjoyed it, especially since it was a nice texture addition, but I think something like pickled ginger would work better.
Looking forward to coming back and trying out more items from the menu. Great place and a welcome addition to the area.
Decent ramen option for the area. Ramen came out hot. Noodles were fine, broth needs work, both Tonkotsu and Shoyu broth lack flavors. Condiments were bare, only a couple of kernels of corn and a couple of slices of scallions.
For ramen, the broth is the most important ingredient. With pedestrian broth, this place deserves only 3 stars.
Suitable for pick ups, to-go orders.
It is not a disappointment, but it has nothing to write home about.
My family and I came to try this new ramen shop. We ordered Shoyu, Tonkotsu, and Seafood ramen. We also got the Jasmine Taro, and Original milk tea. Lastly, we got gang-jeong flavored wings. Overall, the food was really good. Except at the bottom of the ramen broth, it became really salty, otherwise it was very good.
Everything was delicious! We got the veggie, miso, and spicy miso ramen. All were great and the veggies weren’t soggy. The spring rolls were crispy, kimchi yummy, and the teas were refreshing. Service was impeccable- they were polite, attentive, and through. We can’t wait to go back!
