This meat pie shop has been same location for years; clean premises and outrageously delicious pasties.
I love the varieties both savory and sweet, stop by and grab the traditional version (ground beef, potato and onion) that are always right out of the oven to buy and go.
Great quick home baked takeout for less than $6.
Pastry shell is flaky and light, inside is mixture of meat and potato.
Update 2: they now ship nationwide. I’m still going to the store, I live in Jersey.
Update: if you have a favorite pastie, call before you go as some are out of stock and I was told that they may not stock them due to costs. My favorite, the pork and sauerkraut is not available. Disappointing but still many to choose from.
Enjoyable meat pies. Cooking directions are suggestions, depends on your oven. Cover folded edges with tin foil, burnt mine the first time around. Call ahead if you want one ready to eat, otherwise it’s frozen.
Admittedly this was my first time trying a pasty. The employees were extremely friendly and informative which I appreciate. The inside looked very clean and I didn’t have any doubts about the sanitary conditions. The downside is that the pasty didn’t taste all that good. The portion was big, but the bland and dry texture seemed to outweigh that bonus.
They also only offer 1 hot and ready option which was the one I tried ( beef and potato ).
Maybe this is just how pasty’s are and I’m an uncultured swine, or perhaps it just isn’t that good, either way I probably won’t return for more..
but again, the staff is very very nice and I felt super welcomed.
I'm a first timer. I took home a frozen Traditional Beef and a Traditional Chicken, plus two Blueberry Fruit Pasties for dessert.
The cooking directions were accurate. Both meat pasties came out of the oven well baked. Both of the meat pasties were on the dry side and could use some seasoning. I think a little gravy would solve both issues.
The fruit pasties were delicious!
I'll be back to try more.
