i love this place, great food & service. looking forward to returning with my relatives. it has a nice feel to it. atmosphere is similar to a place in columbus i loved.
My boyfriend and I have been ordering from Jembatan almost every week for the past year. This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Philly! The food is delicious, service is friendly, portions are great, and you get so much bang for your buck! I highly recommend the Padang rice, but all the rice combos are excellent!
We absolutely loved this meal. Awesome staff, great selection of food, everything came out fast and sooooo delicious. Shrimp wonton soup is a must. Vegetable fritters, combination rice really good. And the chicken noodles were perfect! As we were sitting in front, saw at least 3 groups come by and talk to the staff and rave about the food. It is the perfect local small business to support. Thanks so much to our server, Nadia! We will definitely be back.
The food was so savory. There was fast and courteous service. It has a great atmosphere. Like a restaurant in Washington I liked.
Great prices for great food!
1) Shumai - came with five pieces. Delicious.
2) Cucumber salad - light and refreshing. Was perfect to eat between bites of the spicy shrimp.
3) Spicy shrimp with green beans - had 7 shrimp, and a lot of veggies! Pretty spicy, probably 3-3.5/5.
4) Chicken curry - good sauce, very mild spice. I did not love that the chicken was on the bone though.
Overall, everything was so good, and I'll definitely be going back. My only complaint is the chicken on the bone. I don't know if all of the chicken dishes are like that, if they are, that's disappointing. I don't mind chicken on the bone if I'm eating wings or fried chicken, but if I'm getting chicken in a dish, I don't really want to have to work for it. But there are plenty of noodle and rice dishes I want to try, and I would get the shrimp again as well.
