John’s Sushi House

Order the family tray from John's and I wasn't disappointed! Their sushi chef is, well, chef's kiss.

We ordered it to go and the only knock was my wait time. I was initially peaved, but the food was worth the wait. There were a lot of sushi orders at the same time, but it didn't seem that busy on a Sunday afternoon.

A lot of the former anesthetic from Blue Hops Angel and...whatever else this place used to be (sorry, there's just too much to remember) still remains. There are some updates that makes it more Japanese/Asian, but it's nothing crazy.

I was extremely happy with my meal, especially because the other local sushi spot on this side of Northeast Philadelphia (Mr. Sushi) is not nearly as good as it used to be when it was Makiman.

If you're craving sushi, don't want to head to Center City, or South Philly, give John's a try. You won't regret it.

Let’s start with our waiter (didn’t get his name) but he was the service you wish for in every restaurant. Accommodating, smiling, and great at recommendations .

When it came to the food. I would say for how fresh the food was the price was perfect. Everything was delicious and tasted like it was caught that morning.

Lastly, I have to give compliments to the layout and design of the place. Clean with an array of beautiful artwork. This place is highly recommended by me.

This place is amazing! 10/10, staff was SO friendly, welcoming and attentive.
Inside of the restaurant is updated, beautiful and very clean. Food was by far the best Habachi/sushi in the area. Our waiter was also wonderful! We HIGLY recommend!

We discovered this restaurant online and ordered takeout 2 weeks ago and it was delicious!8 We decided to go to the restaurant tonight. The food was still outstanding however the service was mediocre at best. The bartender was off so one of the mixed drinks ordered couldn't be made. The server, although kind, made us feel rushed and we wanted to relax and enjoy ourselves. Will definitely order again for pick up or delivery. Unsure about the in person experience.
