I see in the reviews that some people find the menu to be limited. Yes, the menu is on the smaller side, but there are great options. We enjoy dining tapas-style - sharing small plates and getting to try a bit of everything. This is a great restaurant for doing that. The hits for our group of 4 were the mussels - sublime, the tuna tartare - excellent and the ricotta gnudi.
Good. I would eat here again and recommend that others eat here. Gnocchi was like soft pillows. The mushroom pasta tasted like it had been foraged that morning. Caccio Pepe could have used more pepe
Today, Thursday, August 6, 2020 was my first visit to Olly. And it shall not be my last. There were several outdoor tables and chairs with umbrellas that were conveniently situated on the sidewalk, as well as spaced apart to maintain social distancing practices. My server was a bastion of professionalism; I opted for the vegetable crudités with the smoked ranch sauce. It was so good! The other dipping sauce was an eggplant tapanade-type dipping sauce; although I liked it, I LOVED the smoked ranch so much more. I was very pleased to see the ginger ale I ordered had a silvertone metal straw in the glass. For dessert, I had this foodgasmic blueberry cobbler with a scoop of a vanilla ice cream. In all my years dining out, I had never before eaten a dessert that was so delicious, I did not want it to end. It was served warm, and the blueberries were big and juicy. Olly is an automatic favorite on my personal Google Maps List, and a definite "must return" when I come back to Philadelphia.
Quaint atmosphere, always packed! The food was excellent and the portions were the right size. Our server was very friendly and helpful.
I had the beet salad. It was delicious. My flank steak stew was very good. Nice selection of draft beer. They didn't serve bread, which I missed.
