My favorite Afro bar in the city! Happy is from 5-8pm for people who get off late! Food is amazing & drinks are a hit
food is amazing, great service. the bartenders were nice, the music kept me moving and dancing all night. Will come back again definitely.
Exceptional customer service, excellent food, very relaxed ambiance, music at great volume and most importantly very clean including the bathroom which is a huge plus for me! I was very comfortable in this environment and staff were wonderful!
The first time I went I had a great experience. The 2nd time, not so much. The pepper fish style wings was dripped in sauce and not just the spicy dry rub that I had before. Tasted like they added buffalo sauce to the African seasoning. The fried whitening sandwich came with cheese and bread tasted buttery. They should ask people what they want on their sandwich since not everyone eats cheese. And the spinach never came, I guess the lady forgot but at least I didn't get charged for it. The service was nice but slow. The lady brought over my husband's beer as I sat for an half hour for her to bring me my lemon drop. And then twenty minutes later after that she came with a straw. And then on the bill she upcharged me on the drink and it said I got a fish bowl drink and not the lemon drop drink and of course the fish bowl drink was more by an extra $5. We didn't say anything though, cause the service was so slow it probably would've taken longer for her to fix it and come back over. Besides at this point a crowd of men had came in and they seemed like regulars and a priority to her. I would cautiously give this place a 3rd try based on my first experience and maybe not order a mix drink since it took so long to make and they gonna upcharge it but harder to do this with wine. I would pass on the whitening sandwich (especially if you are use to Carlett's Hideaway fried whitening sandwich). The playlist was a good vibe though and it's a clean place and feels safe. I love the African art and the plants outside. When we came in the warmer months we sat outside. I'm still rooting for this place and it has potential.
