Spasso Italian Grill

We ate a last minute meal here in April while looking at apartments. We walked by on our way through old city and decided to give it a try. This was still early post-Covid so the seating was exclusively outside.

They had AMAZING table bread that was worth the price of admission in itself. I ended up ordering the Rigatoni Meatballs with fresh Ricotta cheese. It was really good but kind of plain. I wish I had tried something a little more adventurous.

This place is off the beaten path but I think this keeps traffic low and availability open. I would give this place a try, maybe as a last minute backup. You will not be disappointed.

Classic Italian in old city!

Amazing experience with my family (9 people) who were visiting from NY. Our group was majority vegetarian and there was something for everyone. Food is delicious, atmosphere is great, and the space feel an homey and rustic but also large. The marinara sauce is on point! This will be our go to spot for Italian food in Philadelphia.

Amazing food and service. Reasonable prices for food and wine. The restaurant itself is great I loved the location and the style seen within the building. There was plenty of room for what looked like any size party and luckily we didn't have any issues seating a party of five. The seafood was super fresh and and the meals we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. I would and will recommend this to anyone in the area. We will absolutely be going back.

We made reservations for two on New Year's Eve after the 6:PM fireworks at Penn's Landing. We were 20 minutes early but the hostess took us right back to our table. Our server was great and quick to bring us our wine and appetizers. I had a crab cake and it was truly delicious.
