Went last night and it was great. The food and atmosphere were well worth the visit. Rivers, our waiter, was friendly and told us great stories about the restaurant on top of providing great service.
Still a fave after all these years! Although Judy W gave up control a while back, her philosophies and influence still pervade. Food was fresh, locally sourced, and amazingly delicious. Even the Brooklyn Chocolate Imperial Stout satisfied the "200 mile radius" rule! :)
Beyond amazing; just a stupendous, delicious, unique experience of a restaurant! The menu (pictured) is expansive and every item has an interesting twist to it. Each room has its own theme, with different lighting fixtures, artwork, seating, and colors to make for a wild interior. Couldn't have been a better place to enjoy for my mother's birthday brunch!
This was our first visit to the White Dog after getting rave reviews from our family. We came at an odd hour, after a college tour (4:30). So they didn’t have the full lunch or dinner menu, so we ordered off the bar menu. It had plenty of options for all of us.
They claim to be one of the first farm to table restaurants, and all of the menu options confirm that. Everything we ordered was outstandingly prepared and delicious. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing, and you have to try their famous cream of mushroom soup from Kennett Square. The Parmesan fries and fried pickles are also highly recommended.
The service was very pleasant and very thorough with attending to our table, although we were one of the few diners in the restaurant at the time.
They also had a nice wine list and ample beer options for both draft and bottles, including some great craft beers from local breweries.
If you’re a dog fan, you’ll love the quaint decor in each unique dining room, which are usually dog-related. And if you’re not a dog fan, what’s wrong with you? Just kidding.
Don’t forget to try out their homemade “cookie jar” for dessert. And if you can’t stay for dessert, get a box to go! They’re delicious.
We hope to go back for dinner some time in the near future!
One of the original farm-to-table concepts, the food is fresh and perfectly prepared. Every room has a different eclectic dog theme.
Even for Monday lunch, they had a good crowd, but the layout of the restaurant with a bunch of different rooms means it’s never too noisy. I went with a big group of 9 and got a reservation the day before. They do require most of the party to arrive before seating you.
They offer a vegetarian menu and an allergy menu.
