“First time trying Craley Crab. Got a bushel of medium/large Maryland blue crab. On the positive side, the crabs were a good size, amount, and all of the crabs where Maryland blue crab (no Louisiana crab). Also got a dozen ears of sweet corn. Corn was good. I ordered the crabs a few days early and set a time to pick them up. I was greeted by a very friendly person and the crabs were ready at the pre scheduled time. On the negative side of things, when he steamed the crabs he added about three quarters of a gallon of vinegar to the water used to steam and DID NOT add any Old Bay till after the crabs were steamed. When I asked why he did that, his reply was it made it easier to clean the pot after steaming the crabs. It must really work, all his pots looked close to brand new. That is the reason for the three stars and will not be returning. Not steaming the crabs in Old Bay makes a big difference in the flavor of the crabs. Did not say anything to my group of friends about how they were steamed, but they all said at some point that something was off and they have had better. One other small thing, I did not get the wooden basket that I have always got from other vendors. Instead I got a cardboard box full of Maryland blue crab.”
