Maho Poke

Maho Poke is the hidden tropical refuge you’re looking for to break away from the Newport crowds on Thames St.! The vibe is super chill with swinging chairs in the front, beach murals, and surf boards decorating the space.

This was my first time trying Hawaiian shave ice and the staff were super helpful in walking me through the menu. I ended up getting the Aloha Ice and adding vanilla ice cream. The flavors were great and I loved the fresh mango and strawberry on top! I only wished the lilikoi (passionfruit) flavor in the shave ice was stronger. Next time I go it’ll be summer and I’ll ask for more lilikoi!

Fave new spot for us! My daughter and I stumbled across this place and immediately had to try their Aloha and Ono shaved ice. The amount was plentiful and the taste was soooo onolicious! The only tiny suggestion I would make is to play Hawaiian or island music inside…while the music being played was pleasant, it didn’t quite fit the atmosphere. We will def be coming back to try the poke bowls!

One of my favorite new spots in Newport! Such a fun vibe with great food. The shave ice is my favorite especially on a hot day!

Cute place but the teriyaki bowl I got did not look like the picture. The chicken were tiny cubes and the rice was a bit mushy. I think it tasted good but I wish there was just more/larger pieces of chicken :(
