“I have stayed here a few times and it is a great place if you are in Newport. The location is perfect and you can walk just about anywhere once you are parked. The rooms are clean and very nice. “Stopped by today for my family of six, and it was awesome! Great variety of sandwiches for each of us, but the roast beef (get the three-way!) was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Also, the chicken parm was made with a vodka sauce, which is very different/delicious. They also had a variety of soups (which was a surprise) which were very good in a chilly winter day. Parking was very easy. We talked with the owner and he was super nice and welcoming, you can feel that a lot of love is put into this new sandwich shop. Will definitely be back!”

“Take it from me….If you’re only in Newport for one night, choose Chanterelle for dinner. Every detail from the door to the dinner was first class. Carmen, Dan, and Cin (?) were professional yet personal rendering the service and hospitality nothing short of excellent. However, it’s the food that you want reviewed, so….. The Cornish Hen was phenomenal with the sauce and each vegetable made to perfection. The pear tart is something to be experienced. (Hint: Ask for extra ice cream. You’ll thank me later.) Don’t forget to order coffee with dessert. The only disappointment for me is that I’m going home tomorrow and won’t be able to try more dishes.”

Everything was great ... their enchiladas were not only perfectly cooked, but the spicy sauce pushed it over the top. Definitely a restaurant people should visit while they are in Newport.”

“My daughter brought me for dinner on my visit from California. We started with the house made burrata, cacio de pepe garlic knots, and mozzarella sticks. I will 100% be craving these when I get back home. HIGHLY recommended all three. The mozzarella is topped with a tad of marinara and bonito flakes... AMAZING! Since I won't be back before my daughter moves, we decided to order two pizzas - Margherita and Fun Guy (mushroom). Since we weren't thoroughly satisfied with the Fun Guy, they took it off of the bill. Which I did not ask or expect, but greatly appreciate. To finish, we had the absolute BEST pistachio gelato I've ever eaten in my life. We had my grand babies with us, and all of the staff was very kind and accommodating. Overall very satisfied.”

“We booked here at the last minute and paid over $450 for a small queen room. The hotel boasts a historical feature. The exterior is a charming old red brick and the location didn’t disappoint. Valet parking is a surface lot next to the hotel and was $40 additional. The valet was courteous and helpful. When we approached the desk to check in, two staff members were chatting and another staffer was on the phone. We stood there for more than a few minutes with no one acknowledging our presence. The two chatting staffers never said “We’ll be with you in a minute.” Or “George here will be with you as soon as he’s off the phone.” Check in was quick. The room was very small and a bit sadly decorated. It could use some repairs/updates, especially the wood furniture. The TV is huge and hangs ominously/in-the-way/wobbly above the desk. The bed and all linens were wonderful - very comfortable and clean. Likewise, the walk-in shower was a pleasure and the soaps/shampoo/lotions were exceptional.”

“My husband and I discovered Kellie’s by accident and we were so excited to try it. We finally stopped in before we headed out for our vacation and it was amazing! My husband was longing for steak and ale pie and he loved it. He said it was just as if he was having it in England. I had sausage and mashed and it was yummy! They also sell so many English treats! We’re thrilled. Kellie and David are so lovely and we can’t wait to get back there again. I can say with all honesty that we’ll be regulars! Don’t hesitate to stop in. You’ll love it!”

“Yum! Came here and got the combination plate. The steak and pork were so flavorful that just thinking about it as I write this review my mouth is watering. We got the ceviche, paella and cali burritos with tip the total came to about $80. “We stopped by for lunch today and really enjoyed it. I had the corned beef hot dog special (corned beef, sauerkraut, onions, yellow mustard) and my husband had the Rhody (meat sauce, yellow mustard, diced onion, celery salt). We split the crab fries (fries with Old Bay and a side of cheese sauce). Toppings on the hot dogs were plentiful and flavorful. The cheese sauce with the fries was the real deal - not bright orange gloop. Definitely appreciated the extra napkins. Al was friendly and had some really helpful ideas on things to do in the area. Definitely worth a trip!”

“Stopped in while passing through to do some work while drinking some craft beers, and it was the best decision I made that day. Dave was a great bartender, told me more about their operations, kept me set with cold beers, and just went out of his way to see that I had a good visit. I've been to a lot of breweries, and there's a big difference between those who want to sell beer and those who want to sell the craft beer experience along with quality brews. “My Dad and I ordered the 6 taco special. These are the best tacos we have ever eaten in our life. The presentation was beautiful as well. There was “no contact” pickup and our tacos were placed in our car right on time. Amazing restaurant story and tacos. Cannot recommend enough!!!”
