Come here for one of the best grilled cheeses you’ve had! UMelt has a variety of unique flavors and of course tomato soup to pair. Service is fast and there are options to either dine in or take it to go. If you’re looking for a quick, delicious place to eat, UMelt is the place to go.

Cool spot for a late lunch or after a night time stroll. Not sure if the cashier was apprehensive of me but, she could have helped me through the menu.

The "Cali Melt" was an overall success. Creamy, guac (not just advocado). Or maybe it was squished in the sandwich press.

Wasn't a fan of the tater tots. Was for the slight after taste.

The prices are kinda up there. But, what do you expect from a downtown location, across from a major university.

I'll be back and my ordering game is gonna be on 1000!

Lovely little store, and very friendly staff. Extremely rich creamy cheese, large portions. I found mine too rich to eat in one sitting. I could only get through half the portion of the bowl. If you enjoy macncheese - totally recommend this place.

The Avocado Bowl is A-MAZING. Super friendly staff, amazing food... It's a grilled cheese shop, how can you go wrong?

EDIT: I thought I'd update my review and throw in this experience as well. This happened last winter. My partner and I were followed on some back streets by a very angry, homophobic individual. We had to call the cops. I was genuinely in fear for our lives. We were planning to grab UMelt before a play at the PPAC so after we made our way to their restaurant. The food was great as always and the staff were very kind and welcoming. I really appreciate what the staff did for us that night and looking back I thought I should share this. The staff are very caring and accepting. Thank you for helping us feel safe.
