The Kitchen at the Shack

Just got home form eating there. Service was very good and a warm and welcoming beach type atmosphere. Insultingly small portions so have a snack before you go. Frankly disappointed because we had high hopes when we were first seated.

We started with the eggplant appetizer and the small piece of eggplant was a bit lost on an already small serving plate. Tasted good but come on, it’s eggplant not caviar. Even their own photo of the dish showed two pieces on the plate.

Then our main meal came. The salmon special and the duck. The Salmon was a standard portion and made a nice dish. The duck, complete disappointment. Maybe two ounces and fatty. Without exaggeration about a heaping tablespoon of the parsnip purée which was the main vegetable and a couple slices of portobello mushroom.

We skipped desert and went somewhere else. Was really hoping to find another off,season place to frequent.

Wonderful Monday night dinner. My husband and I sat at the cute bar. The bartender Maddie was excellent. So friendly and fun to interact with. The food was sooo good. We started with the wings. Deeeeeeelish. Then the French onion soup. Another great choice and lastly the scallop dish. The scallop dish was so unique. It was so good. Ill definitely order that again. This will be a regular spot for us..

Food is excellent. Gluten free accommodating. Debbie, our server was very friendly and attentive, even though it was a busy night. Highly recommend. Will be back!

Lovely new restaurant at the B&B, The Surf Shack. The menu has a Polynesian flare, fresh and vibrant ingredients and all delicious! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back!
