Breakwater Restaurant & Bar

Considerably one of my favorite places to eat in Beaufort. There food is delicious and not to mention they have a great selection of wine to pair with whatever you decide to devour. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. I highly recommend if you are interested in a decent dining experience and some good grub.

Quiet place for lunch. Intimate feel. My salad was unique and flavorful. Was with a large group of over 30. They did a wonderful job serving and attending to our needs.

Nice upscale restaurant in downtown Beaufort, SC. Best to make reservations (may even be required). Menu changes as new ingredients become available, so it is always fresh and new. Started off with house biscuits and a pimento cheese and pickled okra plate for an appetizer. Followed it up with the fried chicken (2 piece, both hot and with white gravy) with mashed potatoes and turmeric roasted carrots and beets. The fried chicken was some of the best I have ever had, was not overcooked and was very tender. Fiance's portion size on the dinner salad was a little small, but she said it was otherwise excellent. The desert menu was tempting, particularly the chocolate creme brulee and the bourbon ice cream with pecan pie, but dinner was filling, so I left without trying any.

My Softball team Parents recommended this fine establishment for me to take my wife. I enjoyed Michelle, my waitress and Delta, the Hostess who made us feel welcomed. The Steak was buttery juicy and the Home Cut fries were cooked just right! (I had to order another one)
I strongly recommend this restaurant.
