Maria's Mexican Kitchen

Excellent Mexican food. We got tacos Baja style, and were especially impressed with the al pastor tacos. Really delicious flavors. The barbacoa tacos were also quite good. Carnitas and steak were decent, but I would get al pastor instead. The rice was super fresh and tasty, and the beans were very authentic.

We went on a Sunday afternoon so it was busy and service was a little slow. Food was worth the wait though!

We are regulars st Maria's, because the service is ALWAYS excellent, the food is very good, the portions are large, all for a reasonable price.

The Burrito Americana is huge, large enough to fill our teenage sons by itself, which isn't easy. My wife and I have gone their and ordered simple things like taco salad, tacos, and enchiladas and received the food WITHIN TWO MINUTES! Fast food at a good sit down restaurant. Very impressive.

Last night, I got a soup, Siente mares, I think. It had seven types of seafood, shrimp, mussels, octopus, squid, scallops, imitation crab meat, and another. It was unique in that the broth smelled like seafood. It was excellent.

I have never had a bad meal from this place! The flavors are amazing and the prices are reasonable. However, with my take out orders I always find something is missing. Whether it’s tortillas, or a side of rice and beans that come listed with the dish something is always missing. But they always rectify the mistake once I bring it to their attention.

Decided to check out this newest Mexican restaurant in Beaufort mostly for the Elote. So happy we did! The elote was excellent perfectly cooked sweet corn with creamy salty and a good dose of lime. They start you off with warm tortilla chips salsa and a crema. I got a lunch special which was a delux burrito (I got veggie) with rice or beans. I ended up with both due to their error (my reward). The rice is extremely flavorful. My husband said his arroz con pollo was delicious. Get the guacamole also, you won’t be disappointed.
