Palmetto Dunes General Store

This place is always busy and the staff could be more helpful. We went there about 1pm and wanted some Fried chicken, we were told that they were all out and only had baked chicken (which I would not recommend), after we paid and sat down outside to eat, here came people with fried chicken, I went back inside to see what was going on and they had tons of fresh fried chicken, when I asked them what's going on, they said that they try and sell what is up before bringing out the fresh stuff. Maybe that is why the backed chicken was so bad. Personally I won't go back as I can't support this type of business practice I will at least be fair and say that the fried chicken did look very good, but if course I didn't taste it. I am sure they will survive without my business but remember customer are like your teeth. Ignore them and they will go away. Hopefully you will have a better experience and they are probably worth trying.

Have been coming here for years, every day of vacation since I was a little kid. Always friendly at the cashier. The breakfast is great (biscuits and gravy especially) and easy to order for take-out. Good variety of snacks, coffee, souvenirs, toys, beach items, etc. Visiting again this year and it will surely be one of my first stops on the island.

Incredibly charming little shop with a large variety. Amazing breakfast and lunch food at great prices! Very convenient when living or staying in Palmetto Dunes. Either myself or kids go here at least once a week. Friendly staff, and great hours of operation.

Great homestyle food to go for a decent price. Great selection of t-shirts and souvenirs.

The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious, but it's all pretty expensive
