Nice change of pace from the usual H.H. beach establishment. Cool rooftop dining area with live entertainment. Food was good, but not at the level you'd get at a real New Mexican place (e.g. Maria's in Santa Fe). Better for smaller groups.
I lived for 11 years in Santa Fe New Mexico and came here to taste the authenticity of New Mexico Cuisine. The chili relleno is a real New Mexico Green Chile. And the red sauce and the green sauce are made from authentic New Mexico red and green chilies. I was impressed. Everything was excellent, including the ambience and the entertainment.
Food was delicious but cleanliness is a little lacking. I ordered the lamb chops and my husband got the rib eye. Both were excellent. The chipotle cranberry sauce on the lamb was wonderful. The first night we tried to get in and the hostess looked at me like I was crazy showing up without a reservation. Made one and came back 3 days later. My only criticism would be cleanliness. There was dirt and dust an inch thick under the stairwell in the center of the restaurant! Not appetizing. Made me wonder if the floors are ever mopped because I don't see how you could miss that.
Excellent experience from the time we made our reservation until the time we left. Our server was fabulous and our meals were all delicious. We will be back next year!
Yes, this is a soup. If you're looking for the best southwestern-style cuisine in 1000 square miles, you've found it. Great margaritas and the food is off the hook.
If possible, book dinner at the chef's table and watch plates being make from scratch and final plating for every order in the restaurant- right in front of your face. Super cool if you get the chance.
