Gale Restaurant

Gale was by far one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Charleston over my month long stay. Jonathan is a spectacular mixologist with the most original cocktail recipes I’ve ever seen. All ingredients are locally sourced - even the honey used in the cocktails comes from the owners wife’s bee farm! Truly incredible and underrated restaurant. Restaurant was supposed to open in February but couldn’t because of covid. Truly the best service and most delightful experience I’ve had! And you can’t beat the food!!! Must go to when visiting!

Amazing! Everything from the drinks and food to the service and atmosphere have been created in a way that will truly make the guest’s experience the best that it can be. You can see the time, effort, and love put into this restaurant, I will definitely be back! The cocktail list is wonderful and reasonably priced (especially for how intricate/detailed each one is); Jonathan was awesome and took the time to explain the details/process behind the drinks we were trying, which made our the experience that much better. All around, a great restaurant and highly recommend!

Amazing drinks and food! If you’re in the area you should definitely stop by for a few drinks, some babbaganoush, and a pizza or two. Every cocktail is carefully crafted and delicious. The space/atmosphere is also super cool. I will definitely be returning to try the rest of the drinks that I missed.

What an outstanding addition for the Charleston restaurant community! My wife & I went last night and loved everything about it. Jonathan was very friendly and took excellent care of us. I tried a few of his original cocktails which were all fantastic, and he even made some nice mocktails for my pregnant wife. We ordered the whipped ricotta, sweet soy ribs, and sausage pizza and loved all of them. We’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a new spot downtown.

The place is for literally everyone who enjoys pizza!! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and it's staff.

Starting with the drinks, they were fantastic. The signature creations were fantastic. I tried several and they were all delicious.

GET THE BUTTER BEAN HUMMUS AND PITA BREAD! Where else do you know what fires their own pita in front of you? Seriously, some of the best hummus and pita I have ever had.

The pizza, oh my lawd the pizza!! Apparently this place needs to be giving lessons because the depth of flavor that is in every bite is second to none in Charleston. 100/10 would recommend.
