Gillie's Seafood

Out of all the places in Charleston area to eat I will say this place is by far the best seafood in the area. The gator was so tender and juicy. The crawfish was a delight as I have never had it deep fried what a treat. Do try the banana pudding its by far the best I have had in years. Fresh fresh. My only issue was servers. Return trips to your table is almost obsolete we ran out of drinks with no return visit. That's my only issue

This is the best seafood we found whole in vacation! The food is fresh tasting and crispy without the grease or sogginess! The service was swift even though it was busy. I tell everyone about this little place and will definitely return!! Thanks for the great experience!

We heard about this restaurant from one of the locals as we were visiting the city. First off after we were seated it took almost five minutes before anyone came to take a drink order. Then we had to wait for a server to call me to work before our order was taken. When the food came a couple of things had to be sent back because it was cold. Overall the atmosphere was pleasant, the food was great we just wish service was better from the start.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! This place is so good! I'm glad my husband and I found it. It was our last night in Charleston and we looked up black owned restaurants. This restaurant popped up with great reviews and stated it was featured on Food Network. The food was absolutely delicious. For an appetizer we had the shrimp stuff with crab wrapped in bacon - amazing! For our entrees we had the Catfish Charleston and Catfish Tacos - amazing! For dessert we had lemon blueberry cheesecake - amazing! The cornbread - absolutely amazing! Everything we had was amazing! It was one of our favorite places we visited. The atmosphere was nice and our waitress was very friendly and inviting. We definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in Charleston!

We had Amber as our waitress and we had the best time! We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was fantastic. We had the fried green tomatoes, seafood gumbo, jambalaya, and the grilled shrimp. The creamy grits are fantastic! Definitely will be back.
