From the surrounding neighborhood and outside, this place is like a diamond in the rough. The food at Leon's is A+. I was just in Charleston for a quick two days and made a point to come back to Leon's due to having such a phenomenal lunch here six months ago. Their fried chicken is obviously delicious but so are their oysters.

It can be extremely busy so definitely either make a reservation or put your name in online. The first time I came here for lunch it was a week day and an hour wait around two. I learned my lesson from that the first time so made an adjustment for my second visit.

The fried chicken is some of the best. Was recommended from a restaurant owner in Savannah and it did not disappoint. Plan on waiting but it is definitely worth it and a great chance to meet someone new. Service was great and and added to the experience! Highly recommend.

Unbelievable service and food. Ended up there late night and spend 2 hours having the best meal we had in Charleston. Great atmosphere, great food. The avacado toast, chicken, and seafood were amazing. Wish I could it 6 stars.

What a fun place! Lively with friendly wait staff. Wonderful choice of Oysters. We had the fried catfish sandwich which was delicious. Leon’s rises to the occasion when it’s packed with a young crowd ( and a few old-timers like myself). Can’t wait to go back.

In a City known for its creative and high end food scene, Leon's stands apart by providing exceptional food at reasonable prices in an atmosphere that radiates authenticity. Located in a former gas station with a sticky bar you'd think you'd think the food would be mediocre at best. However, the drinks are refreshing and strong, the oyster selection is on point (Sea Clouds!), and the fried chicken is INCREDIBLE. Arguably one of the best restaurants in Charleston, well worth the trip from downtown.
