We were visiting and stopped in for dinner. So glad we did. Enjoyed the oysters and shrimp! The coleslaw was delicious! Thanks for the amazing service. We will return when visiting Charleston.
The fresh oysters were delicious. The staff was really friendly and we enjoyed it a lot! We also tried the crab cake appetizer and also delicious. The fried clams just didn't taste that fresh though sadly. Would most likely recommend!
Went in for a late lunch and the place was packed, grabbed two seats by the window counter. Half dozen house oysters to start (~$12 vs $18 for 12) and crab cake sandwiches to follow. Lots of crab meat, not over dressed, nice potato roll bun, and a generous portion of crab chips to accompany.
All the food was good and the atmosphere wasn't bad for being so crowded. Worth stopping in for lunch or just a beer and apps at the bar.
Ordered the fried shrimp and oyster dinner, clam chowder and calamari. The dinner comes with corn fritters, which were excellent, and "chips". Oh, you mean fries right? Like Fish and Chips, which is on the menu? Nope, actual potato chips on your $18 entree. The shrimp were pretty darn good but the oysters, well, if you didn't tell me that they were oysters I wouldn't know, just another piece of fried seafood. Pretty much the same with the calamari. The dinner came with a little slaw as well which was almost the best part of the dish. Lastly, the clam chowder: not bad, not bad at all, might even say it was pretty damn good. All in all, not a terrible experience but I doubt I'll be going back any time soon.
A great experience! We have sampled many restaurants in Charleston over the years, and these folks simply do things better. The place is always packed for a reason. Everything is a little more fresh, a little better prepared, and more than a little better tasting. Oysters from many locations, and very, very fresh. Highly recommend!!
