Phenomenal oysters and the presentation is perfect. Was driving by and stopped in. Greeted promptly and it's set up very rustic-- almost like you're in a ship or a tavern! I haven't tried anything but the oysters and wine at happy hour (4-7 M-F), but it's worth it. Stop by on your way home from work, or if you're visiting in town!
Wonderful atmosphere. From the rustic tables to the fantastic music, me and my girlfriend felt comfortable and relaxed from the moment we walked in. Greeted as we entered and brought right to our table that was completely ready with menus and all. Got fantastic service from Preston who had tons of menu knowledge. Food was out of this world. We enjoyed steamed shrimp, muscles, fish dip, and the local green salad to start. For mains we had the curried fish and the charred octopus which both had so much depth to the dishes. Executive chef Kevin Kelly has a done a fantastic job with the menu and the chefs he hired and trusts to create these memorable dishes every day. For dessert the liquid cheesecake and bread pudding topped off what was a fantastic dinner. Even the spiritless drink was amazing. 100% will be back again.
The best oysters I've had in five years. I lived in FL for a while and for some reason I could never find any good oysters. If a place can't tell you where their oysters are sourced then they are probably terrible. Rappahannock's VA oysters are amazing. Don't go anywhere else if you seek the perfect oyster. They shuck the right too. A lot of places could learn something.
The food and service was excellent. This is a restaurant you definitely want to try while you are in Charleston. We had the oysters and the shrimp and grits, both some of best I’ve had. The waiter was top notch. We will definitely be back whenever we return to Charleston
We went there for Friday night happy hour. Really enjoyed the oysters and fish bites. Had a few beers and mixed drinks. We liked the drinks so much we searched for the local beer at a market, took some home with us. The mixed drink I had during happy hour, I would like to have the mixture. Can’t find it on the menu, but it was bourbon with cherry. I believe they used makers mark to make it. Would love for someone to share the recipe. Will be back on our next visit to Charleston!
