I dined here on 12/1 and was served by Rich. His depth of knowledge of each item on the menu was incredible. The chef even came out to meet me at one point and gave me a sample of an upcoming dish and took the time to explain how he had created it. I also ordered a dessert that was unlike anything I’ve ever had in terms of its creativity and flavor. It was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I was even served a complimentary glass of Cognac after dinner and gifted a cigar. Absolutely fantastic place.
We only stopped by for a quick lunch time dessert. There were a couple items I wish we could have ordered but understand certain restaurants have a limited lunch menu. It was very unique fare, but also very delicious. We had the honey pot de creme and ginger turmeric ice cream. My daughter was on a mission to try made from scratch lemonade from as many Charleston restaurants as possible and this one was her favorite by far. Incredibly enjoyable experience.
Highly recommend this restaurant for dinner and birthday celebrations. They do a fantastic birthday surprise (I promise no obnoxious birthday song for those that don't like that). They have fresh season based oysters and a classic selection of scotch. The small plates and main course are exquisite. Note they are smallish plates, but I guarantee that it is quality over quantity.
I hope everyone enjoys the restaurant as much as my friends and I did.
We really enjoyed this place. Great seaweed bread. Appetizers were on point. Server was personable and knowledgeable. Grouper was fantastic. Great flavors in all dishes. Was unsure coming here since it's new but would highly recommend. Great nightcap with cognac and rose for the lady ;). Check it out!!
The service, food and location was phenomenal. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. I’ve been to many Charleston restaurants over the past decade and none have ever brought complimentary cigars, cognac, a single red rose and the check presented inside a book for which the restaurant is named. How neat! My flounder was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside with an incredibly tasty fingerling potato sauce. My husband’s grouper was tender yet seared on the outside with a balsamic reduction and sweet corn kernels presenting a fabulous balance in flavors. Our server Chase was attentive, personable and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!
