Kanpai Japanese Restaurant

Me and my asian wife are regulars here. Pro tips: Bring your own bottle of wine, its byob. Order the Spicy truffled edamame for your appetizer. Then make sure you get a firecracker roll with your sushi. For dessert, go half cheesecake half beignets. The combo is insane.

Best sushi in Charleston. Chef Park does a great job. Go for the Kanpai Crunch and Wagyu roll.

We had a very unpleasant dinning experience here. The food quality is just normal, nothing sparkling compared to the price. It took long time to wait for the foods.
The worst is the service. No one asked us for drinks after we seated. We had to ask drinks after we ordered food. Then, during the whole two hours of dinning, no one came to check if we needed more drinks.
The impression is like the restaurant is more locals oriented, so maybe the owner does not really care much passersby or tourists.

Awesome food and service the wait was a little long as everything is made fresh to order but well worth it. We plan to come back soon and bring some friends.

First time. Great food and service. Sushi was excellent and the waitress was very helpful and informative about the menu. Highly recommended for ramen and sushi.
