Las Lupitas Mexican Restaurant

Have visited twice on two separate trips to Charleston, food has been delicious both times! The steam pots are fantastic! The first time our service was spectacular! The second was not so great, on a not busy day the waitress was not very attentive. But the food is great and maybe it was an off day for her? The first was awesome! Ashley, was super attentive and very helpful. She seemed to be well liked by all of her customers.The hostess, Faith, was very welcoming and and friendly as well.

When we drove in we saw it was a hole in the wall and we definitely looked out of place but the hosts were welcoming in this small restaurant. The food was super reasonable priced, and the portions were hearty. Their tacos for only $2 each blew my mind, they are so full of flavor. A touch of lime and the sauces on the table make the experience even more delightful adding layers of flavor with herbaciousness, acidity and spice grounded by the soft masa tortilla where you could taste the sweet corn and a little graininess from being ground. The diner had a nice vibe of authenticity and although I didn't purchase one, I eyed large cokes in those classic coke bottles. Their carne asada was delicious as well, served with fluffy rice and spiced beans.

Loved it. Friendly atmosphere. I recommend it to anyone who loves mexican food. This menu is awesome

Not a big seating area, but it turns over pretty quickly.
