Irashiai Woodruff

Beautifully done on the decor. Makes for a great dining experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and responsive. The sushi was excellent. We had the lucky cat roll, as well as the blazin tuna and our regular; rainbow roll. Again, excellent. Shout out to John for great service.

This is a new location for Irashiai and I could not be more excited for it! This spot has been so many different restaurants but when Irashiai moved in I hoped it would be just as good as their other location out on Pelham Rd.

The restaurant itself is very large and well laid out. We were greeted immediately and sat in a booth near the window. Our server, we found out later, is also the wife of the chef! She had a lot of great recommendations one being the Shrimp Carpaccio which was outstanding. I could have eaten another plate of it. It had a wonderful smoke flavor to it and the citrus from the ponzu just rounded it out. We also got the mussels and added jalapeños. I find that these can be overpowered by the mayonnaise sauce it’s topped with but these didn’t at all. It was a perfect balance. The jalapeños didn’t add much spicy but they didn’t take away from it either. (They don’t normally come with jalapeños I asked for them specifically)

For the sushi rolls we went with the Lucky Cat at her suggestion and then added the Blazing Tuna. Both rolls were very great! I wanted to try so much more as their menu is HUGE. I’m so glad to add them to our Sushi restaurant rotation.
