Let me start out by saying the drive is so worth it. It is not far from greenville. Best Bbq we had while visiting the area might I say the best bbq I've ever had? The man (owner?) working the front was so kind. And the food was absolutely amazing. We got the rib and chopped pork plates. No regrets! The two sauces blew our minds. Wish they bottled it and sold it. We will be back and recommending it to everyone. Thank you for a delicious meal!
We spotted this place on the way to the Pumpkintown festival and decided to stop on the way home since we did not find anything appealing to eat at the festival. We had dinner plans with family, but had not eaten all day and really wanted to try the BBQ. So we ordered a chopped pork platter with sweet potato crunch and macaroni and cheese to share. If you have read my other reviews, you will know that I am very picky about mac and cheese and will not hesitate to call out when I don't like it. However, it was awesome! Very fresh and not dried or crunchy, with a perfect cheese-to-pasta ratio. They use solid cheese, not the runny kind (which a lot of times is disgusting). The sweet potato crunch was very tasty and a little thicker than the traditional sweet potato casserole. (yummy!) Coming from the low country, the pork I am used to eating is pulled, but I really enjoyed the chopped pork here. It was fresh and moist, and really could have been eaten without the sauce, but we wanted to try both of the home-made sauces and were not disappointed. My partner normally will only eat the mustard based sauce, but enjoyed the red sauce too. A piece of cornbread came with the meal, but I did not try it.
Some things to know: They are open only on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11:00 - 7:00. This is a drive-up spot, but offers picnic tables with umbrellas if you choose to stay and eat. Soft drinks are canned. This is not a big deal, but be prepared if you like unlimited refills.
Overall, the portions are good and the prices are reasonable. We definitely will be back for some more BBQ and to try some of the other offerings.
On a side note, both of the owners were present when we stopped by. They are very friendly and polite and take much pride in their work.
This is incredibly delicious BBQ! We had the half a chicken and the chop pork platter. The chicken just falls off the bone and is so tender! Flavors are incredible it’s almost a shame to put on the delicious homemade sauces. We will definitely be back especially since we weren’t able to try the half rack of ribs. Oh and don’t forget to finish your meal off with the scrumptious creamy banana pudding!
Food was great and the owners were nice. We will definitely go there again!
This food is amazing and the customer service is outstanding! Everything is made on site and we have ate there at least 12 times now! Usually every Friday! My favorite is their potato salad! Very reasonably priced! Will definitely be back for more!
