Lobster Dogs Food Truck

We went to the Savanah River Brewery to catch this truck. Waited in the heat and boy it was worth it! Delicious lobster rolls and ahi tuna.

Lobster rolls are a dish common in the northeast. You can get a "lobsta" roll just about anywhere in Maine. Lobster rolls are traditionally served on a toasted and buttered top-sliced hotdog bun.

Die-hard lobster roll affectionates say that a simple recipe is the best. This is because they love the lobster flavor and texture. Adding fancy spices and flavors only conceals the lobster essence.

Lobster Dog follows that rule. You get a ton of lobster, cooked as it should be (I'm not sure if it's steamed or boiled). The lobster is tender. flavorful and moist. Perfectly done.

There are two general types of lobsters: Maine lobsters and Caribbean ones. (And others, but this will do for this review). The Maine lobster has meaty claws as well as a tail , while the Caribbean only has a tail and feelers instead of claws. The Maine lobster is more highly regarded.

Lobster Dog uses large chunks of lobster meat, including the claw meat. It comes with a little cup of drawn butter and is totally delicious. I'm used to lobster rolls with a touch of mayo a little celery on a buttered and toasted roll, but I'd never turn down one as good as Lobster Dog's.

So, my final assessment is that this is an excellent version of a lobster roll. I only gave it 4 stars because of cost. It was $25 for a sandwich, a bag of chips and a can of coke. Even with today's inflation issues, that sounds pricey to me. BUT, it was very, very good.

To the gentleman who complained that the lobster was cold: it's supposed to be cold. If you don't know, that's fine. You shouldn't trash someone's product when you're ignorant. Try looking up a recipe or two before displaying your ignorance. Don't be lazy!

Smelled it cooking from down the road 😋 Delicious! Each restaurant's lobster roll has its slight variations in taste from each other but overall is the same dish. Fresh, thick pieces of lobster. One lobster roll comes with a bag of cape cod chips and costs $21.50 pre tax.
