Olde Country Buffet

A mom and pop run all you can eat buffet. Plenty of wheelchair accessible parking and the place was wheelchair chair friendly. We had little problem getting in the restaurant or leaving it.

A great variety of food and salads. Hopefully the soft serve ice cream maker will up next time we come. Also would have liked to different gravies on the line for the mashed potatoes.

Server was very attentive to our requests and our drinks didn't go below half empty. She did a great job, hopefully we will get her next time we come.

Let me start off saying that we used to go to the original Old country buffet years ago and this is not like that. We arrived for dinner on a Saturday at about 5:30pm the price is $18.29 that includes tax and fountain drink. A lot of the stations were extremely low. We inform one of the staff that several of the stations were low and they said that they would have somebody to fill it up for an example the shrimp was low and when they filled it up they put maybe 10 more shrimp out within moments it was low again.

They a salad bar with a few different kinds of lettuce. They also have olives pimentos bacon cheese chickpeas and some other stuff that you can add to your salad also they have several other salad dressings you can also put on it.

For the main meal they had fried chicken baked chicken pulled pork which I have to say was my favorite and very good mashed potatoes french fries chicken nuggets stuffed peppers soup but it was empty and needed to be refilled lima beans green beans baked beans and some other things.

The dessert they had a ice cream machine but was told it was broken so there was no ice cream but they did have other desserts including brownies hard melon hard cantaloupe strawberry shortcake banana pudding with some crackers added to the top not true Southern style the brownies were my personal favorite would have liked the ice cream but once again it was broken but dinner price remain the same.
My opinion that most of the food tasted like it was from a can or it was frozen and reheated it did not taste fresh.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. For suggestions I would recommend that they fill the stations more often and adjust the price if your machines are not working because when we got there there might have been two other parties in there so I would not say there was a rush. Overall rating I would say at this point it was they so so experience.

I have read a lot of people have enjoyed this restaurant so I gave it a try. As I paid to enter I asked if they gave seniors or veterans a discount. Bom, they had one. Once inside I noticed that all the buffet tables were the same as the previous Chinese Restaurant. After my choices, I was able to taste the food. Most of my dishes were not quite up to my loving. I know there are a lot of people that really enjoy this place so maybe my selections were a different country taste than what I am used to. Positive dishes were fried chicken and wings, butterbeans and fish that was an unkown variety. The chicken salad, potato salad and other premade salads were not to my liking. The pork chop was a maybe along with the vinegar bbq. The mac & cheese was too much cheese on top and too congested on the bottom. If you love sugar, there is a tremendous dessert bar that I avoid. I’m sure some will love this place but I didn’t at 1:45 on Friday. BTW everyone was friendly.

For a place that just opened, the food was amazing and abundant, our server was attuned to what we needed, and the owners were very gracious. We will definitely be back! #betterthanlizards
