Daizu Hibachi Express Restaurant

After reading mostly great reviews and a few on the opposite end of the scale we decided to give them some time to get established before visiting. I'm right on the line with this one... I partially agree with the review that said the only thing Asian is the name and decor but at the same time we've had worse. It was clean and the waitress was pleasant and attentive, but the entire staff were Spanish speakers so she couldn't answer a few questions due to the language barrier... in fact, we didn't see anyone that appeared Asian and the food was ok at best. This was the 1st time either of us have had crab Rangoon without cream cheese inside, it was only chopped imitation Crab with green onions that's it. Not terrible, but not right. The food came fast, and although they didn't ask how we wanted the steak cooked we both requested medium rare and the steak was well done to the point of being dry; the chicken was dry too so my kids wouldn't eat it. The shrimp and vegetables were good, the carrots were sweet and broccoli was well done as requested, but the rice seemed like it was pre-made (soy sauce, peas, carrot) then warmed back up; that's a guess based on the texture/dryness, and how some of the peas were dry and hard. Like most hibachi places the portions were plentiful, and the prices were decent compared to some of the fancier hibachi restaurants. Overall it was just ok and we don't really see a need to come back unless there isn't anything else open.

A bit of a wait-time, especially considering they were not at all busy. But, OTOH, they did just open less than a week ago. Plus, once my meal arrived, it was still warm; looked pretty good, too; and tasted good, as well.

Edit: Came back. They got a toilet handle now. Service a little faster. Only downside is their rice is premade with veggies so you cant ask for none but got more chicken this time- updated photo. Ok place. 👍

Got hibachi chicken, asked for no veggies, but they were put on there. Had more mushrooms than actual chicken - pics- and waited 20 mins for it.- just shy of $-11 with the tax. Inside clean, but toilet did not have a handle on it. Staff is friendly! Sucks for the problems since we waited months for this place to open, but for what we could eat, the chicken and rice was good.
We hope to retry someday and hope for better and still recommend for the area.

Food was excellent! We got the Teriyaki Chicken. Love the rice. Soba Noodles were full of crunchy veggies. The Crab Rangoon actually have crab in them!
I was a little frustrated that I didn't have a menu online to look at, so here's mine. Enjoy!
