Always professional and friendly staff, everything on the menu is top notch and fairly priced.
I have one rule when I travel, whether on business or for pleasure: I don't eat at any restaurant that I can't eat at back at home. Mr. Friendly's fit the bill, because there isn't one back at home in Ohio, as it is truly a one of a kind place. I went there with two business associates while in Columbia on business. We ordered the salmon croquets as an appetizer, and I ordered the Carolina catfish with fried green tomatoes as my entry. Both were very delicious. I have never liked fried green tomatoes before going to Mr. Friendly's, but theirs was unforgettable. The salmon and the catfish were cooked to perfection, and very tasty. Obviously, Mr. Friendly's has a very artistic and skillful chef working in the kitchen. In a word, this place is awesome! A nice touch is the art hanging on the walls, all of which is for sale.
Food is always great and they are doing a fantastic job running a safe, clean, socially distanced restaurant. Had a great meal last week, would love to see bean cakes and blue cheese dressing back on the menu!
Decided to try Mr. Friendly's this evening looking for good southern cuisine. Believe all of the great reviews about the food, it's authentic, exceptionally prepared and served in phenomenal quantity. The wine list, beer selections and, cocktails are varied, eclectic and a little unique. Finding a wine pairing for your meal won't be a problem! The staff are engaging, attentive and professional without being hard to talk with. Questions about the menu didn't require a trip to the kitchen as our waitress knew menu and made great suggestions.
Busy on a Monday for lunch was a great first impression! Really cool little spot in Columbia featuring comfort food of The South. Great menu selection with beer wine and cocktails and friendly and prompt service. I will definitely return when I'm back in the city.
