Saluda's Restaurant

Booked a table for busy parents weekend far in advance and then needed to change the time AND number of guests. They were great! Let me add 3 people and change our time. Food was excellent. Everyone ordered something different and everyone raved about their dinner. Husband’s shrimp and grits were the best he’s ever had (sorry, Bobby Flay) and daughter’s steak was perfectly cooked. Waitress recommended the steak special (can’t remember the exact name) and everyone who ordered it loved the choice. I would definitely go back on next visit to Columbia.

This was our first dine in since covid and I was pleased with everything. We sat on the balcony and it was very pleasant. Service was great and very friendly. Biggest hit was the pork belly appetizer. Steaks and the scallops were perfectly cooked. Enjoyed the apple and caramel cheesecake as well. Overall definitely a great date or special occasion spot.

Food was absolutely delicious. The staff was upbeat and friendly. Loved the ambiance of everything. Outdoor seating was just as nice as indoors. And to top it off the drinks were great! Recommend for a date night or a meeting with business partners.

Celebrated my birthday with great friends at Saluda’s last evening and all was perfect. Our server, Sheridan, made our experience the best that it could be, ensuring our drinks were always full and our appetizers and entrees were served piping hot. We began with fried oysters and seared tuna - both superb. I ordered the pork chop which is my “go to” at Saluda’s and it was out of this world as usual. My friends had shrimp and grits (the best I’ve had), a pasta special with PEI mussels and shrimp, and seared scallops. All were amazing and beautifully presented. We were surprised by a dessert platter and champagne that had been ordered by phone by my son. I give Saluda’s five stars - one of the best in our state.

I was in Columbia, SC for a business trip. I am a huge follower of Eater essential lists and this was my source for the decision to dine from here. rest
I did curb side pick up one Sunday evening due to social distancing purposes. From the outside the restaurant looked very classy and I really wish circumstances were non-COVID. I would have loved to go in to experience the environment. The hostess who brought the food out to me was very welcoming and friendly.
Anyway, I had the pasta du jour for my main course. I honestly was not a fan of this item. It lacked major flavor.
The pasta didn't taste fresh even though the menu said that it was house made.
For dessert I had the the triple chocolate ganache cake. The cake was not memorable in anyway. It was nothing to rave about it.

I am giving this restaurant 3/5 only because the service was great and I believe it has potential. The upscale flair on the menu makes me believe there is hope.
