Killingtons - Fort Mill

Always looking for a new/different place to grab some dinner and a couple of drinks after a long day of work. We popped in to Killington's Baxter Village location to do just that on a Thursday evening. We timed it right because we were shown to a booth right away. The weather was beautiful so it would have been nice to sit outside, however, it seems all of Baxter had the same idea! Diana greeted us quickly and took our drink orders. I had been here once before but only for appetizers and cocktails. We spent a few minutes perusing the menu before deciding on the pub pretzel appetizer, the Spicy Jack Chicken sandwich and the small Baby Back Rib plate.

The pretzel was incredible! Brought to the table piping hot and hanging from a hook, it was as big as my head! Served with pimento cheese and hot mustard for dipping, we honestly could have been perfectly content with just this for dinner!! When I ordered the chicken sandwich, I was unsure of the sauce to choose - Diana made several recommendations and even brought me a sample to insure that I was happy with my choice. The tenders were rolled in a spicy Gold Rush sauce and were absolutely delicious!

If we had one less than stellar item, it would be the ribs. My husband said while they had a good flavor, they were rather dry. That's the reason I didn't give 5 stars. Service was fantastic, the price was reasonable for the food we ordered, the place was clean and we will certainly be back for future date nights and client meetings.

We came up from Charleston for the weekend Ray is a fabulous server! Thank you so much the fish and chips were great the Pretzel was great our daughter loved the food! We love the beer try the Benny Irish draft!

Hit or miss with Killingtons. Staff have always been super friendly and helpful, but food leaves you wanting. Pasta dishes seem to be just a collection of ingredients that get thrown together at the last minute (some items were different temps than others like chicken being lukewarm, while sauce was hot). Wraps didn't seem fresh. Flavors were good, but seems like poor execution. And for the price of entrees, I would expect better.

It was our first time there the cheesy grits subbing for the risotto under the salmon was fabulous. The menu selection was so good we have picked items to order next time. The kids menu is "real food" as opposed to bar/fast food, which is refreshing. Waitstaff was really attentive and multiple checked and all took care of you. Floor manager was active on the floor checking on the tables. I am glad they are now here in Baxter.
