Come for the view, don’t expect fine dining. Cabins are newer and quite comfortable, the food is basic. The scenery is spectacular. Easy hiking with many boardwalks.
This was my first Indian taco experience. I had mediocre expectations at a cafeteria in a national park, and they were definitely surpassed! The taco was very flavorful, and the fry bread was fresh, fluffy, and had just the right amount of firmness to not fall apart. The meat was a well seasoned combination of beef and bison. I could have probably eaten two.
This was a really beautiful, convenient, and authentic experience for our family. Rooms are decent size for 4, nice shower pressure, comfortable enough.
There will be many bugs. Moths. Flies. It's going to happen, just know that. It's part of the experience.
The cabins could definitely use brooms. It gets messy tracking in dirt. Housekeeping lent me one. They were really nice. Bring an extra blanket though if you're a cold sleeper, they didn't have extras.
Cabins are nicely renovated but beds are so soft that two people in a queen sag into the middle. The food is just awful. Limited choices and none of them are good. The dining room has the ambiance of a bad high school cafeteria. Staff is friendly and helpful. The gift shop is very nice, better than most National Park gift shops. Location is fabulous with easy access to the sites of the Badlands but it's really the only game in town. On the whole, good place except for the food and beds.
Charming little gift shop at Cedar Pass Lodge. I've visited 3 times over the last few years and have always found unique gifts, reasonably priced. I will stay at the cabins next time I visit.
Loved the taco in the restaurant also! Huge serving very tasty. Ate off it for two days.
