Sear Black Hills Steakhouse

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sear, and I must say, their steaks are exceptional. The flavor was outstanding, and they were cooked to a perfect medium, just as I had requested. I particularly enjoyed the au poivre enhancement, which added a delightful touch to the dish :) In addition to the fantastic food, I found the menu prices to be quite competitive and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall, I highly recommend Sear for anyone seeking a delectable steak experience with reasonable prices.

We had a great experience at Sear! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with the menu. The food exceeded our expectations and was cooked to perfection. They ask you to cut the steak to check right away, which I love. My kids still rave about the phenomenal cheesecake and dream of going back for more. We are and will be repeat customers!

Love the remodel! So glad they kept the bar. We stopped at 6 for dinner and choose to sit at the bar. All the servers and hosts were friendly. Shelby, our bartender was amazing and knew the menu well. She recommended the Pork Flatiron and the wedge salad. WOW, it was delicious! We are looking forward to Sear opening for lunch.

I am not sure if Sear is seeking to be an upscale restaurant. If so, the food would qualify, but there are other things lacking. The lighting is way too bright which makes it feel like more of a casino atmosphere than a fine dining establishment. If they are striving for the latter, white table cloths would add a lot to the ambience. We asked to have mashed potatoes replaced with baked (all entrees,at least in one category, included mashed only). The answer was , “no, we will include the mashed, but charge extra for a baked”. Really? Water was served in a beautiful bottle but never poured for us or refilled. Wait staff was adequate, but not overly attentive as one would expect in an upscale restaurant. I would certainly eat there again, but with lower expectations. Again, this review is based on my expectations but maybe not their goal. Food was good!
