The Dogwood Cafe at 27

Fantastic restaurant! The ingredients are fresh and they have a chef who knows what they are doing. Rare find in Johnson City, usually have to travel to Knoxville or Asheville for food like this.

Food was good. Not enough food for what it cost. Service was ok. The atmosphere was very cheesy the five star restaurant feel in a gas station parking lot. They don’t have high chairs or changing tables. So don’t take your babies

The best food in the area! The waitress was great, the owner was great, and the owner's family were great! Overall a great experience. The prices are fair for this level of quality. It's like I was rediscovering scallops for the first time, and they far exceeded any scallops I've had before. The sea bass and crab cakes were both fantastic as well. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Yum! Wonderful atmosphere & even better was the food & service! I had chicken marsala with mashed potatoes & fresh green beans. My husband had the catfish, green beans & spinach. We also had a shrimp cocktail as a starter & cheesecake & coffee for dessert. The shrimp cocktail was generous & tasty. The marsala was the BEST I've had in like forever! My mashed potatoes were real & soooo darn good!!! Green beans were cooked to perfection! My husband loved his catfish! If you like cheesecake this is the place to save room for it! I liked that it was a reasonable size piece & it just melted in your mouth! Yes, we will be back!!!

Our second visit to this unique gem of a restaurant.
Our expectations were met with the Chicken Marsala and Shrimp n' Grits 2 weeks ago but, my oh my, this evening's Special Dinner sounded so delightful both Wallace and I ordered it! Expectations exceeded!
Beginning with a comprehensive salad, then 2" sea scallops in a thick lemon butter cream sauce with buttery potatoes and Santa Fe corn. Choice of German Chocolate cake or Strawberry Cheesecake. Coffee.
Exit 27 off I-26 in Eastern Tennessee. Only a glass of Sauvignon Blanc would have made it better.
