El Jaliciense Mexican Restaurant

Amazing authentic Mexican food. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. Simple, good food at a great price. Highly recommend it.

I was staying near Nashville and asked about Mexican food and was told about El Jaliciense. I was told that the place wasn't much to look at but the food is fantastic. Everything was exactly as described. We walked in and were politely seated and immediately waited upon. Fresh chips and salsa were served and we ordered the guacamole as an appetizer. Everything was fresh and delicious. I the ordered the shrimp A La Plancha and my girlfriend ordered steak/chicken Fajitas. All came with rice and beans and everything was fabulous! Maybe the best authentic Mexican food I've had!

The outside of the restaurant does not look nice. In fact, my husband almost turned around. We are glad we stayed. The food was delicious. They put an avocado slice on your plate instead of guacamole. I ordered guacamole on the side. It was good. The floors and tables were clean and the waitress was friendly. They do not serve sweet tea, however, only bottled sodas. It was 33$ for the two of us.

I’ve been coming here since 2016 and have loved it every time. The best cheap Mexican food in town! All my foodie friends love it too. I even had a birthday party for my partner here because it’s his favorite restaurant. You can’t beat $1 tacos and Mexican sodas! It also appears to be family-run and immigrant-run, so even more reasons to support them :)
