The food and atmosphere are both wonderful. The coffee is the best. Everything our party of 11 ordered was delightful. The prices are seem high but once you taste it you won't mind.
Walked in with my husband and a friend on the Sunday evening after Oktoberfest. Everything was delicious and delightful, and service from James was wonderful. Sit in the Champagne Garden if you can - it was a great fall evening, and we were near enough to the fire, so it was on point ambiance. House bread was wonderful, as was the grilled octopus and tartare that we shared. I had the duck and dumplings for my entree - truly one of the top dishes out I've had in a long time. Shared a few desserts which were also good.
There are so many restaurants popping up in this city, so it's always nice to find somewhere that offers a wonderful experience all around. Yes, this is an expensive restaurant, but if you like good food, then it's well worth it. I'll definitely be back, both for dinner and to check out their brunch.
Geist is great food and drink in a great location. The cocktails are boozy and very flavorful. I generally only have one drink before or after dinner, but the drinks were so good I wanted to keep going. My wife ordered the broccoli caesar for her meal and I had a steak special with mashed potatoes. My wife was so fond of the broccoli caesar that she actually ordered it again once she finished the first one. She went into the meal not all that hungry and wanted something light but the salad was so good that she had to get another. Steak is a bit difficult to screw up, but Geist got all of the little things correct. The steak was prime and very flavorful. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare with coast to coast color and was served in its own juices after resting. It was sliced and topped with flaky sea salt and butter. The cut was a NY strip so the added butter complimented the relatively lean cut perfectly and the flavors were excellent. The mashed potatoes were great, not chewy (over-whipped) and well-seasoned. We very much enjoy Geist and go back as often as we can.
Beautiful restaurant and if you have the opportunity to sit outside, do! We had the crab ravioli - it was light and lemony and delectable. I also ordered the Pink 75 and had to stop myself from finishing it in two drinks, so good! The service was wonderful, staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
I don’t even know where to start, I have fell in love at first sight with Geist. Thank you David for giving us such spectacular service!
I consider myself a foodie, so I always want good food. However, if I go out to eat the first necessity is great service. Nothing ruins a dinner faster than poor service, in my opinion.
Geist was a great surprise and made a fantastic first impression. The ambiance was great, the service was fantastic, and the food was a phenomenal.
