We came to this east Nashville location a few weeks ago when they opened. Ryan was our server and was wonderful! The sushi was amazing and some of the best we have had in Nashville! We can’t wait to come back again when the full menu is open. I am excited for the back patio to open at some point too. Ryan was very knowledgeable and recommended some of our sushi rolls. I highly recommend!
We were very happy with the service and the food. We have been to every sushi place in Nashville. I’ve lived in Japan for years and you won’t get Japanese quality sushi in Tennessee. But I would say this restaurant is the best in Nashville. And again I’ve been to all of them multiple times. We are very lucky to have this in East Nashville. Don’t waste your time at someplace that sells sushi but also does Thai food. Go to Samurai.
Had an amazing experience eating here as a longtime fan of samurai on Ellington! It’s nice to have a new and differently curated menu to experience, and I can’t wait to go when they’ve been open long enough to offer all their options. Our server was friendly and accommodating and helped us in a timely manner despite being totally slammed–really impressive. The food was delicious but I expected no less. And the ambience is excellent, I love how there’s a little memory of eastland cafe preserved in the place. Great to see a Nashville business give way to another beloved Nashville business owned by a local tied into the community—that doesn’t happen much these days. And finally a good sushi place in East! I’ve been waiting!
Went here a few days after they first opened. Totally understandable that they couldn't serve the full menu as they are short staffed. The server was very energetic and polite about it. Gave us all the info we asked for and was patient with us. The food was fantastic. No complaints. A person who I believe was the owner helped out too, so they really care and want to give the best service possible.
Also, if you think this is the same as the other Samurai, it clearly has a different name so easily expect something different. The first two locations are different so why would this one copy one of them? This to me is a unique thing so you can be like "I want this, so we must go to the Germantown one," and the next time you might want a dish from the East one. Great business plan in my opinion.
I’ve had a lot of sushi and I’ve lived in Nashville my entire life. This is easily the beast sushi Nashville has ever seen. Because they just opened, a few menu items weren’t available, but the staff was kind, the sushi came out quickly and it’s all reasonably priced. We will definitely be back and recommend this to everyone. We *heavily* recommend the spicy shrek.
