One of Nashville's hidden gems. An old converted house in kind of a random location, so easy to miss, but the place has been around for 20 years and for good reason - the food is great and prices are reasonable. Dishes fall into the gourmet comfort food category, with a lot of interesting spins on traditional dishes. Unlike most of the newer Nashville restaurants that get all the rave reviews, you get a lot of food (and drink) for your dollar here, which is refreshing. Highly recommend finding this place on Google Maps and paying a visit
I had the small house salad and the Greek Pasta and added blackened chicken. It was amazingly good. A perfect blend of flavors in a light tomato based sauce. My friend had the turkey club, toasted. He said it was one of the best clubs he’s ever had.
We love the Yellow Porch usually - the food is great, the atmosphere is good, and the service is usually very friendly. Our last experience (Friday, Aug-24) wasn't so great, unfortunately. Aside from some under-cooked rice, the food was good, but our waiter was as cold and un-welcoming as I've ever experienced. I'd mention him by name, but he never introduced himself, so I don't know who he was. He took our order and brought us drinks while seemingly frustrated that we were there. He was short, rude, and cold. After he brought our drinks (still in his cold & rude manner), we didn't see much of him for the entire meal. We sat for a good 15 minutes after we finished waiting patiently for him to return and wondering if he'd forgotten us, despite trying to politely get his attention several times to indicate we were ready to leave. Thankfully, there were other more attentive and friendly servers that noticed our frustration and picked up his slack, but his lack of care didn't go un-noticed by us, the couple celebrating their anniversary next to us, or the other tables he was serving. That type of behavior from a waiter makes us think twice about coming back, and I feel bad for the couple next to us that ended up celebrating their anniversary by overcoming his consistently rude behavior. I know waiters have bad days, too, but if you're ruining people's experience in the restaurant, you need to go home for the night or find more suitable work. We'll likely be back because this is not the norm at this restaurant, but if he's our server, we'll be asking for a new table or finding another restaurant.
We were in town for medical appointments and wanted to have lunch here, having been in the past and enjoyed it. We were not disappointed! The food was freshly prepared, salmon was cooked perfectly and the strawberries were sweet and juicy. Our desserts were incredible. The reason for four stars is that the wait time on our food was long. Fortunately, it was worth waiting for. Our daughter who lives in the area, but had never eaten there, was sure she would be coming back.
I don't believe I've ever given a five-star, but this place was absolutely outstanding. Natalie our server was divine, our food was fabulous cocktails were amazing. And we sat out on the porch and had a lovely evening. Can't wait to go back. Thank you Yellow Porch
