JR's Mexican Steakhouse

The steak was perfectly cooked. It could use a little more seasoning but otherwise was great. The brussels sprouts were amazing and I don’t even like brussels sprouts. There’s already a ton of Mexican restaurants in Oakland but this is the only real place to get a legitimate steak.

Carne Asada was tender and flavorful. Best in Oakland. Guacamole with pork belly was destroyed by my family, very crispy pork. Service will be slow as they learn so have patience but food for me was delicious and well presented. We will return!

First day it was open and it was pretty good. I had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. It was ok. I think they used premade chicken fried steaks and they were just okay. The gravy was delicious. My wife had the enchiladas and they were good according to her. My daughter had chicken tacos and she felt they were well made and delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Prices are a little high.
