Alimentari Cucina e Bar

I briefly visited the restaurant to use the ladies room and stopped to order the chicken salad to go. The bartender was extremely friendly and I received my dinner very quickly. I didn’t taste my food until I got home but the chicken salad was extremely salty. I couldn’t even finish my meal.

What a delightful experience we had both times we ate here during our visit to Chattanooga. My husband is Italian so we are always on the hunt for a good Italian flair and we definitely found it here.

Everything we tried was absolutely wonderful and cooked to perfection. The ingredients were fresh and every dish was like trying something you had been searching for for a long time. Between my husband and both my kids we tried almost everything in the menu and we can not settle on our favorite.

For me it was probably the salmon. It is so hard to find a Salmon fillet that is cooked on point, not too oily, fresh and delicious. And this one definitely was. The spinach was without exaggerating the best one I’ve had.

The staff was absolutely delightful and welcoming and made us feel like we had been long time customers. I wouldn’t leave Chattanooga without a stop here. Just glorious.

I gave this place a bad review back in February of '18 and it was the worst dining experience of my life. But! I heard they had a new head chef and kitchen staff so my husband and I revisited it last night. It was AWESOME. We got an assortment of apps and two different pasta entrees, each of which were presented with care and memorable panache. Delicious. Great service. Will be returning!!!!

So... we got the cheese platter as an appetizer, and there was a hair that looked suspicious and a small orange ant on the platter. Not a huge deal I guess, I mentioned it and the waitress didn’t hesitate to “get us a new one”. But the thing is, when it came back, it was the same cheese and things, just shifted around. Still ate it, but a little salty about it. My main dish was delicious, it was the gnocchi no issues there. I also had ice cream, and this is more of a personal thing, but I didn’t appreciate the added fruit, and it was obvious that they ice cream was over frozen or something because the chocolate was in layers? Like I felt like I was eating skin flakes, but that’s not a big deal, tasted good. Service was good, but the cheese platter grossed me out.
If the food wasn’t delicious, I would’ve given two stars. They should check for bugs, that’s a given! Also, they brought the same cheese out and lied that it was different...
