Beast + Barrel

I enjoyed my first experience at Beast + Barrel. The interior of the restaurant was very nice, and the menu had quite a lot of options. Loved the every day happy our (I had an excellent nitro stout). Our server was very polite, but service was a bit slow and some things were forgotten that we had to remind him about. There wasn’t anything wrong with any of our meals, but nothing was spectacular (we had the chickpea burger, bison and beef meatloaf, and hummus appetizer). Would definitely go back for happy hour drinks and apps!

Visited for brunch. Not terribly busy. Service was excellent. Great drinks at a fair price. They even had some hard to find whiskeys! The food was both delicious and filling!

Their bison meatloaf was the best I've eaten. It held up very well when cut, but did not have any oat/onion/etc texture. It was well seasoned, but it did not take over the dish, simply acted as a launching platform for the meatloaf. The mushroom gravy with it had great depth of flavor, but was not heavy. Brussel sprouts are a must; perfect cook time and just enough honey to lighten them.

They have affordable whiskey flights, great local beer selection, and a broad happy hour. This is a must stop if you're visiting Chattanooga.
