(September 20, 2019, 5:10 pm)First off I love Mexican food. So this review might be a little biased. I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars, because the carnitas tacos are the best I've ever had. I grew up in So Cal so I know Mexican food. I've even had Mexican food south of the boarder, and I can tell now Metate has the best carnitas style tacos.

(August 10, 2019, 11:35 pm)Our go to for quick Mexican has been ElMeson. But, the quality of the food and service, along with the atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant has declined the last few years.
Tonight was our first visit to ElMetate--we will be back!! It was neat and clean, the service was prompt and courteous, and the food was excellent!! I especially liked that the booths have high backs ensuring a sense of privacy at each table, and the bar was well-separated from the dining area.
